As I was snapping photos of this pond across the street from the lake, trying to get a good one of the three little ducklings swimming around with their mother (they were unfortunately too far away), the dog surprised me by jumping in to go after the ducks! If he'd been on his short leash instead of the extendable one, I think I would have unintentionally gone in with him. Perhaps I should expedite my planned purchase of a waterproof camera case.
