Failed canoe trip

We drove to Mac Bayou, near Lake Charlotte, in order to go canoeing, but unfortunately once we arrived I realized that I had left the paddles at home. Unbelievable! It was too far to really make driving home and then back again worth it, but we did at least have a nice picnic lunch. The cypress groves along the edge of the bayou were beautiful. The plan is to go back on Friday--this time with a boat AND paddles.

It was such lovely weather (would have been perfect for canoeing!) that the dog and I just sat outside enjoying it for a while in the afternoon.
