New puppy!

My sister just got a baby German shorthaired pointer! She's 10 weeks old. Since my sister and I are both staying with my parents this weekend, we have four dogs in the same house--it's been crowded. My parents' dogs are Kheda Blue (the big mastiff) and Ender (a mutt). Mine is Julian (also a mutt), and my sister's is Petra Lucille. If you know where all the names except Kheda come from, then you are as nerdy as my sister and me, and you can tell that we really like Orson Scott Card. In fact, I brought home an OSC book (Enchantment) this weekend for my mom and sister to read.

Julian was unhappy about having to stay inside the fence while I took everyone's photo, so he tried to climb the gate:

A bunch of the boy scouts came to pick up their popcorn on Saturday, and many of them had younger siblings, all of whom adored Petra. The little guy below especially loved her, and played fetch with her for a long time. He actually did at least as much fetching of the ball as she did, but they both had fun.
